as a first time lab owner, i was wondering if these 'psycho runs' are common?
it happens usually when he is about to get in trouble, or sometimes just randomly, he will dart around the house, with the run where it looks like his backlegs are over taking his front when he is running.
is it that he needs more excerise? he goes for a run once a day, or is it just a dog thing...trying to avoid getting into trouble?
im trying to get him out of the habit, cause he goes so fast he usually ends up knocking things over.
Sounds like the infamous labby butt-tuck.
hehehehe he is butt-tucking. They all do it :P
We just step out of the way in our home. Or I just open up the front door and he goes outside and does it to his heart's content.
Sometimes it's because he is just happy. Other times it's because he just got yelled at for being bad :P

lol thanks for reassuring me
i tend to laugh at it most the time cause its extremelly funny to watch, but my roomates dont agree when he knocks over their things! I guess we will all have to learn to live with it.
my name for these is a whack attack-just keep out of their way and let them blow off that excess energy burst
Ah yes, we call these the puppy crazies. Kenzie usually does it when she's hyper or if she has something she's not supposed to. My husband and I just stand back and let her go unless she has something really important. If she's just hyper we'll take her outside for a romp in the yard frisbee, ball etc. I cant imagine having that much energy!

LOL! Yes - our labbies are definitely [in]famous for that! CoCo likes to do it just after a swim or hose-down... Or when she's being extra saucy!
