DefaultAngus and his crate - anyone have one do this?

Angus has taken a bizarre liking to his crate lately. ???

OK, a little background: His crate is in a corner of the kitchen. He always gets a treat for going in.

    Lately, here's what's been happening:

I go into the kitchen. Angus runs over to his crate and gets in, looking expectantly at me. This happens almost every time I go into the kitchen. It is making me feel TERRIBLE! I think, is he in this much of a habit of going into the crate, that he thinks that every time I come into the kitchen, this is where he should go? :-\

OR...is he just doing it because he knows that will get him a treat? We have been slacking off a little lately on training every night, so maybe this is his way of tapping me on the shoulder and saying, "Um, excuse me...treat?"

He is crated during the day while we are at work, and while he is sleeping. Otherwise, he is out with us. Sometimes he is baby-gated in the kitchen, but usually he can be found hanging with us in the living room or downstairs office.

It is just weird. I can't figure out why he's doing this.

My best guess would be his association of the crate with a reward - He's just looking for a cookie!

I also agree...waiting for a treat. They are so conditioned.
When I go into the bathroom, Zoe will bring me a toy, expecting a treat. Sometimes she gets, other times not.

hahah I think he is just expecting a Treat. Buck does everything he knows in an effort to get a cookie when he feels like "it's time" for a cookie! :P

Cinnamon isn't so suttle she gets up to the couch and stares at the treat jar.
