I s/w Kathy yesterday morning Rem was ok.
I'm on the phone with her now she said she thinks he had a seizure or convulsion last night. :-[ She said afterwards it took him awhile but then he got up and played a little. Today he's only been laying around. He ate and is drinking water. She said he just looks very sad. She said his breath is really bad??? I hope Rem isn't in pain how can you tell? ???
We are having sort of a reunion tomorrow. 3 of the boys and Maggie are coming to visit.
Just keep praying .... Glad he is still eating, etc. That's a good sign.
What was the outcome of his 2nd vet visit? I beleive I read where kidney or liver disfunction can cause bad breath due to a build-up of toxins in the blood. Labs are very stoic and I think show very little pain.
Man my thoughts and prayers are with Remmington.
2nd opinion isn't until next week (I can't remember which day) I don't have a good feeling. I've been reading up on this. They think he may have gotten into brake fluid. Everyone is so aware of antifreeze and she knew that wasn't laying around she didn't think of the brake fluid right away. Earlier this week she remember her husband got brake fluid on the garage floor while working on his tractor. He covered it with cardboard and no one saw Remington in there but from the way her vet described his kidneys it sure sounds like he got into it.
I'm really hoping for a miracle.
Praying for a miracle.
Oh, geez! I'm praying right along with you.
Really bad fishy breath is a sign of kidney failure (or is it kidney disease?). When my Sam was sick with whatever mysterious disease he had years ago, he had the worst breath ever. I mean it was unbearable. I had to roll down all the windows on the way to the vet with him. That's the first thing the vet checked - his kidneys. Turned out the kidneys were fine. We never did find out what was wrong with him. Apparently he got into something and for 2 weeks I had my neighbor checking on him daily to make sure he was still alive. It was weird and very scary. Next thing we knew, he was fine again.
I'm praying that's the way it is for Remi.

Oh, Deneen, I'm sorry. Still lots and lots of good thoughts for Remi.
Where as I cant imagine brake fluid could be good for them I did not know it had the toxicity of anti-freeze. At lunch today I was think about Remmington, and thought he must have gotten into anti-freeze as it take so very little to do damage.
C'mon Remmington hang in there and get better.
Praying for sweet Remington...
