Hi, a while ago I posted about Ollie being a nervous dog and his problem greeting people. I promised an update on how it's going so here goes....
He is making excellent progress and we're so pleased. People at training are amazed at how he is now we get comments like "Hey, wasn't he the shy one!" He is quite confident with going up to people now and even accepts a little petting. When we're out on walkshe noses passing people to see whether they have sweeties (the method we've been using to convince him people are nice!) He still isn't keen on strangers approaching while we are sitting around (on town/park benches) I guess it's because we are in submissive (low) position but generally he has made great progress.
What have we learned about having a nervous dog? Well
1. Be Patient
2. Let the dog do it himself in his own time
3. Obedience classes are a great help
4. Did I mention Patience??!!
Thanks for reading... sorry it's long!
Glad that Ollie making progress! Way to Go Oliver!!!
