I have a 1 year old yellow lab. we leave him in the kennel outside in the yard. We don't want to put concrete in the kennel as a floor. Is there anthing else we can do?
I don't really have an answer. Most of us on here are big proponents of labs living WITH the family as they are pretty social dogs. Is there a reason why you are keeping your lab outside?
He is in there while we are at work during the day, unless we are home.
Mostly dirt on the ground and wonder what we can do to cover his area instead of concrete.
Oh so it's during the day while you are at work... that's a tad bit different.
I'm sure someone will come along with some answers... for Ender we have him crated in the house during the day.
I cant remember what they are called but have seen them at sams club. they are mat type things that connect and you can use them under children's play toys outside.
We thought of getting some last year when I was babysitting these 2 kids.
Id think if they were weather resistant and you can run and fall on them that they would probably be alright for a Kennel outside.
Hay / straw with a blanket over top? A nice dog bed that you won't mind getting a bit dirty (washable of course!).

Some use pea-gravel, but I am really sure my dogs would eat it.
My outdoor run is dirt covered with straw. I have also use pine chips too
