    DefaultBear Mountain State Park

We were thinking of taking our NYC Lab for a nice day of "Grass" somewhere in either NY, NJ or PA (not too far driving distance). One of my favorite spots as a kid was Bear Mountain State Park. I just read on their site that dogs must be muzzled and a 6 ft. leash!! Does anyone know if this is really true?

Does anyone have a suggestion for a nice off-leash dog park or just nice park in general in either NY, NJ or PA for a day trip? Need to take Jax away from the NYC concrete for a day. These are the times I so wish I had a backyard instead of living in a high-rise apt. in NYC LOL.

Here's the link to my post from the other day........Gardner Park in Bay Shore, LI.

It really is a lovely place, but on the weekends you'll definitely have to keep your dog on the leash until you get to the beach (about a mile walk through the nature trail).

There are some parks in the Albany, Saratoga area but I don't know if you want to go that far.
