read Marley and Me during silent reading time. Of course, I said yes....how could I say no?? She is a kindred spirit.....she has a 2 year old yellow lab who she claims is the female version of Marley.
I got so tickled with her yesterday.....we are all reading and I begin to hear this soft chuckles.......I look around the room and see this sweet girl with her hand over her mouth trying to stifle the laughs........I walked over to see what part she was on......page 26...walking Marley who strolls "like a run-away locomotive".....well, I began to chuckle also......so now we are both chuckling and the rest of the class is looking at the two of us like we have both lost our minds........what can I say, with Marley's help I totally disrupted my own class.
Mother of Zoe Mae and Zeb AKA The Mess Pot
I am sure she prolly has many of her own stories to tell about her lab!!!
What a lovely story.....and you and your student sharing that moment
And, too, what a nice image of a young girl giggling over her book; such a tender age yet
That is too cute I can just picture her giggling and trying to hard not to disturb her classmates
~Abby, Molly, and Penny (the honorary lab)
What a wonderful story Lee. I am sure you will always remember her reading that book.

Awwww...........My son is in 7th grade and he wants to read Marley and Me.
I'm sure it's just me, but I wouldn't let my middle schooler read it. There was quite a bit of the "having sex like rabbits" in that book. Without all that I would have been fine with it. But I think parts of it were not appropriate for a 12 or 13 year old.
And before anyone calls me conservative ... I admit it ;D
I am currently reading that right now....it is excellent!!! Absolutely tons of laughs, so far!!! ;D
