    DefaultTal's One Week Gotcha Anniversary

Well..tomorrow marks one week since I brought Tal home. Some say it’s a lot of work, and it is, but actually it doesn’t feel like work to me. It’s more like guiding him to be everything he can be. And I don’t mind one bit. Now that I have him, I cannot understand why people get dogs, spend little or no time with them and expect them to be “good” dogs. Sad, really. Then they give them up or just drop them off somewhere. I cannot imagine not having little Tal. He is a joy…and I am glad he’s here.

Today he did lots better seemingly than he has been being left alone. He wasn't whining at all when I got home. That was a relief. When I left again about 2:30 or so he whined a bit but quieted down. I returned about 5 and he had wee'd in his crate. I think I will reduce the size I've got available to him. So some progress...And I don't even freak about the niting/nipping at me anymore. I just keep a chew toy handy and put it in his mouth...or depending on the time I'll feed him....

I never felt it was work taking care of a puppy. I know they grow up so fast.....I just enjoy it.

Although I could live without those needle sharp teeth biting me. ;D

Ohhhh, I don't miss those needle teeth either! Nuh uh!! But you're right, it is a lot of work, but truly a labor of love. It is so amazing to shape their lives and watch their progress.

Happy gotcha day Tal! Your dad sure is doing a great job with you! I can hardly wait to see how wonderful you're going to be when you're all grown up!
