One year ago today, Lilly came into our lives unexpectedly but we are so happy to have her here!! I was surfing online looking at all the labs for adoption on petfinder and came across American Lab Rescue. I saw a picture of Lilly formerly known as Lizzie and fell in love with her. I was always telling my husband that I wanted a yellow too but we hadn't really talked about adding to our family just yet. Well just to be on the safe side I filled out an application at American Lab Rescue and I said I loved the looks of "Lizzie" Well, then fate kicked in. Not a half hour had gone by that I sent the app. did I get a phone call from the rescue place! Lilly was placed with a family that had several small children and they NEEDED to get rid of her because she was destroying their house. They asked me if we would like to foster her for two weeks. WHEW, that was fast! I called my husband who at the time had a severe ear infection from swimmers ear and told him the news. He was on the fence....I don't know, Moby is a lot of work, two will be nuts plus he was in SO much pain from his ear. Well, somehow we ended up meeting the rescue group that night!! When Lilly got out of the trailer in a full body wag and headed for us, I knew she was staying for good!! We had a TOUGH first week with her. One because the rescue thought she was 1.5-2 years old but come to find out at the end of the week when we brought her to our vet she had just shed her baby teeth and was probably 7-8 months old. Boy did that explain A LOT! Lilly has transitioned so well into our home, she went from the crate during the day (while we were at work) and at night to no crate at night after a month and now she has her own room in our house that she hangs out in during the day. Mind you, it also has its own A/C unit and even though ours blew out in the living room, Lilly's room still has one!* Wow, this got long! Well anyway HAPPY GOTCHA DAY my sweet Lilly! We love you!

Hey, we had a weird age thing like that with Simon, but it was the other way around. The shelter said he was 7 months, then our vet saw him and thought 2 years! We just said, well, we'll have to wait and see if he gains any weight or gets any bigger before we'll know for sure. Turned out the shelter was right
Happy gotcha day Lilly! You really landed in a good place after all that, huh? ;D
