DefaultAngus has a pink thing on his nose...

Well, it's right above his nose, on top of his muzzle. It started a couple of weeks ago. At that time it looked almost like some kind of ulceration...it was a bit raised and crusty. I put Gold Bond powder on it for a couple of nights and it seemed to flatten out.

But now it may have gotten a little bit bigger. It is still very flat, not oozy, just pink skin with no fur. It doesn't seem to bother him at all - no scratching or pawing. I would say at this point it is not quite the size of a dime. Maybe 1/4" diameter.

Does this sound like ringworm? (Again)* :

He had it several months ago. We used a topical treatment for about a month and haven't had a problem since.

Let me ask you this: Would there be any harm in trying the ringworm treatment again for a few days to see if it responded? I *really* hate to drag him back into the vet yet again. He was just there last month for a split nail. He is averaging a pretty consistent six times a year for little maladies, and it is $100 just to walk in the door.* :-\ I mean come on Angus! Cut me a break! :P

Another interesting tidbit of information: This cropped up right after we tried switching foods. I was going to try them on Solid Gold Mmillenia for a while. I've gone back to Canidae now.

Edited to add: Can you see it in this picture? Look for a pink spot right above his nose. I have a close-up at home I'll scan later.

See Paddy's?* This was 4-1/2 years ago (yeah... that's Dar Baby there).* It took MONTHS, but we just get applying neosporin and pure Vitamin E oil twice a day to it.* It eventually disappered entirely.* You'd never know now that he'd had such a booboo on his nose.* Fur came back in just fine.

What is it Paddy's mom? Was it ringworm? or just a doggy zit of sorts? Buck has a teeny tiny pinkish spot on his nose too. I thought it was sunburn or something :P

Wow, how weird that they are in the exact same spot!

Did you ever figure out what it was? I can get some Vitamin E capsules, the kind that are filled with gel, and I have Neosporin. Maybe that will tide him over at least until it's time for his physical (couple of months). ?

Abby and Yeller both had a spot like that on their noses two weeks ago. I was panicked and freaked out, until I realized that they had done it to themselves trying to lick all the marrow out of their marrow bones... Could that be the cause Connie??

    (Amy - good memory!!)
Connie - I never did figure out what it was. It looked almost like a burn or blister. It never bothered him, he never rubbbed on it, it never oozed. It just... was. It has never returned and, as I said before, you'd never know today he'd ever had anything wrong there.

Mocha had something sort of similar I think it was canine acne though. She had pink bare bumps on the top of her nose and some under her chin. I had a plastic water bowl and ceramic food bowl at the time and I switched to both stainless steel ones and after a week or so they healed up and went away and I havne't seen any since.
This picture I got from an article on canine acne when mocha had it

hers looked like this on her chin

you can see on the right side above her nose

Molly, good guess, but our Rally thing was indoors. But, I wonder if it's something he could have picked up at the show?

It really doesn't look bad or contagious or itchy or painful, though. Just bare skin. ??? Maybe he did rub his hair off on something. Very weird.
