I know Paddy's arthritis is excruciating to him some days.* We medicate for that.* But sometimes I think he's pulling my leg.* "Mom, let's do things like we did when I was the ONLY dog here!"
Like whinnying at the back door before there was ever a doggie door.* Now he can come through the doggie door any time he pleases.* Well, maybe it's too painful for him today.* I always oblige him going in or out... opening the big door.* Even with the entire door open the other six goobers will winnow their way out through the doggie door.* *
They just go all over the map, these oldsters, don't they?* From puppy today, to frail tomorrow, and back again the next day.
And I thought raising puppies kept me on my toes!
One thing I'm considering is giving Paddy a small meal midday.* He eats at 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM and maybe a treat or two in between... but I know when he's got something in his tummy these days he's a lot less restless and *paw-ie* for neediness.* He relaxes and eases much more, so I think I'll give that a try.
Thoughts on the midday meal idea?

The oldsters need extra care as long as he doesn't get too fat !!!
I think it's a great idea, Nance. He won't get fat if you take the portion out of the other two meals
Love you, Paddy! :-*

How about some green beans for lunch? That is what Shadow gets for her third meal, at about 8:00 pm (they just don't work well in the auto-feeder and there's no way she'd be satisfied with beans as breakfast!).
