we picked buddy up about 20 mins ago. iT's so sad. he tail isn't wagging, he won't let us come anywhere near him and ever once in awhile he does a whine cry- my poor baby. They said he was very luck he didn't break his jaw. they had to put some bone in where the tooth came out. I was talking to a vet tech who I have know for years and said that she looked at it when he was under and it was pretty bad- took quite abit to get out.
Thanks for all your thoughts and prayer. I am really dreading giving him his meds tonight and of course hubby will make me be the bad guy
:-[ :-[Poor Buddy....but thank goodness he is home and I'm sure he will improve daily.
Poor Buddy. I sure hope he gets to feeling better real soon.

Awww, I just read this and had to go looking for what happened. I hope he will be feeling better soon. Maybe he's just too "relaxed" from the anesthesia to wag his tail?
Does Buddy not take medicine well? When Garth was sick, we got him something called - um, I think they were called pill pockets. It was like he was getting a treat! He loved them!
Oh my gosh, that poor guy. I hope he's better soon. Your son must feel so bad. I hope that when Buddy's feeling a little better your son can give him lots of lovins, so Buddy can show him that he forgives him.
Poor Buddy! hopefully when the anesthetic wears off he'll be better
Did they harvest the bone from Buddy himself or did they have a separate supply? I would think they had to harvest it since it was an emergency surgery. Speaking from experience, having a bone graft for dental implants where they harvested the bone from behind my own teeth, it was the M-O-S-T painful dental surgery I have ever had and I have had more than you can count on one hand and maybe even both if I sit down and really count them up. It literally took a week of percocet before the pain was low enough to responded to ibuprofen. If Buddy is still acting like that tomorrow I would call the vet and see if he can call in a Rx of something to help him with the pain.
Poor fellow. I'm sending healing thoughts his way. Hope he feels better soon.
i'm not sure where they got the bone from-I didn't think to ask. They gave him a pain med with antiflam and an antibotic so hopefully it kicks in. Although he looks like totall crap he ate his dinner NO PROBLEM so I am sure he will turn around soon. He has let us pet him a few times but still doesn't want anything to do with (we aren't bugging him or anything but usually he follows us etc) I let you know if he improves
Poor Buddy! :'( I'm glad he's home and hope he has a speedy recovery!
