A friend of ours has a dog that has pretty bad anxiety to thunderstorms. Any idea what she could do for that? The dog has already chewed thru a wall, cracked the tray on the bottom of the crate, and bent the crate wires!
No help here. But I feel so sorry for the dog . Perhaps check with the vet.
how about something like this?
My Maggie is terrified of thunderstorms. I ordered her one of these, which I read about in the Whole Dog Journal. Using it over time has really helped her!
I think now there are also some tapes or CDs which you can get that have sounds of thunderstorms.* You can play these at a very low level day after day and each day very slightly increase the volume.
My Bess (BF, AKC bench line, 55 lbs, 1967-81) was really distressed during thunderstorms and I got a Rx for 5 mg. Valium and would give that to her when a big one approached.
