When I was in Ghana over the last three weeks, we went into Accra and there's lots of street vendors who will come right up to your car. I liked to have crapped in my pants when I saw some street vendors selling puppies! Made my skin crawl.
Oh, how sad. :'(
It can be such a shock to visit other countries and see the way animals are regarded. I remember when we went to Jamaica. We never saw a pet dog. There were just feral dogs, roaming the streets. The thing I remember being struck with the most was that they all looked JUST alike, except for variations in color and markings. But it was almost like they were some kind of breed, they were so similar in size and shape. I remembered reading about genetic drift in Biology, and thinking well, there ya go. :-\

Gone ahead, but forever in my heart:
Crash, Pit Bull x Rottweiler x Golden Retriever
It is the same way in Ghana. It was a jolt. And they all look like some kind of breed like you said.
