I know this is probably not the right section but so many people see this here. Lou the lab is in our retriever club, he lives with Henry. Lou broke his leg when jumping across a small hill instead of going down it. Henry took him to Ohio State for surgery so Lou would have some mobility. Here in Pittsburgh all they could offer was arthrodesis, which would have meant fusion & Lou would have been stiff legged. So he went to Ohio State for a second opinion.
The first surgery was a success but his leg got infected under his cast. He goes to his own vet twice a week for antibiotics & a cast change.
My SU went with Henry for Lou's visit today since it is a 4 1/2 hour drive one way. SU just called.
Lou needs surgery tomorrow, one part is healing well but the plate & screw have to come out & they are going to put in a bone graft. This lab is Henry's best buddy & I know he is heartsick about all of this. His injury was almost 3 months ago. He has been mostly crated since the surgery & he has not even been able to have therapy yet. Lou needs a break. He sure could use your prayers & good thoughts. I have seen what this forum can do.
I am attaching a picture of Lou & Henry. Sometimes a face helps. He is a sweetheart & only 2 years old. If money could fix him he would be better by now.* He needs some prayers said for him. Thanks for your help.
Here is Lou waiting to go in the water on a training day.
Sorry this was so long, I just feel so bad for those two.* :'(
prayers and best hopes for a speedy recovery for Lou.
Lou you are so handsome of course he gets our prayers. :'(
Prayers on the way for a successful surgery for Lou, and patience and perserverance for Henry. This must be very hard for both of them. So sorry.
Prayers winging out for Lou now.
They've sure got them from here, Georgie!
