DefaultZoe and Zeb on the parkway

Yesterday we decided to go on a picnic on the Blue Ridge Parkway; there is a winery we love to go to right by it. The owners have black labs and welcome all dogs, even inside the winery.

Zeb is the funniest thing. It was cool so we had the windows down. He loves to rest a front leg on the armrest and stick his head out the window. I checked him out in the side mirror and began to laugh. He was lifting his head just enough so the rushing air would lift his jowls up so much you could see all his teeth and gums. I wish I had a video- jowls lifted, eyes closed, looking as content as could be. Such a funny little man.

Zoe , on the other hand, did okay. But after we got settled with our picnic ( we were in a little picnic gazebo just big enough for us at the winery) she got sick all over the place. We cleaned it up. Poor baby, she was so upset with herself. She clung close to my side all day; she just doesn't feel good at all. Her tumor has grown just a little since last Thursday. I will be glad when they perform the surgery and remove it. Hoping they get it all. I just hate seeing her ill.

On the way home, Zeb snuggled with her the entire ride. He is being very sweet with her- none of his usual bossy acts. He is a sweet mess pot .

    Sounds wonderful Lee!

I'm sorry Zoe's not feeling very well. I hope the surgery goes well and she has a quick recovery.

    Colby,

Zoe has surgery scheduled for Friday. She has a tumor on her trunk that has grown quickly. The vet did an aspiration last Thursday that shows abnormal cells ; they have ruled out a fatty tumor. So the tumor will be removed this Friday and sent to the path lab for a biopsy. She has lost 2 pounds . We are hoping for the best.

That has got to be Chateau Morrisette! We had our rehersal dinner for our wedding there, and went to their bluegrass concert series, too. I miss that place!

Aw, bless Zebbie's heart for consoling the poorly Zoe. That's so tender. I can't wait for that nasty to be removed from Zoe's side.
