    DefaultDoggie Daycare advice needed

I've decided to put Brigetta into doggie daycare- just a day here and there to see how it goes- mainly for socialization and play time- and because I will be boarding her there for two nights when I have to go out of town and I wanted her to be familiar with the place since she has never been away from me. I've done some research on the place, spoken with the owner and gone for a visit and it seems to be a good place. I was wondering if anyone had any advice or thoughts on doggie daycare or things I should be concerned/ask about. Thanks in advance!

A description from their site: http://wescottacres.com/pet_daycare.htm
A typical daycare day will involve outside morning play with running, ball and frisbee chasing. We will break for a light lunch snack and indoor rest. Then go back outside for a relaxing walk, game of tag, maybe a swim in the pond, and afternoon snack before going home. We will tailor the day's activities to the needs of the individual dogs participating. On Wescott Acres' eight acres of woodlands, pastureland and shady pond, there is lots of space for your pet's exploration and relaxation no matter what he or she is doing.

    Sounds great!!!

Ender LOVES LOVES LOVES doggy day care and we love it too... we get one very TIRED and happy dog

Unfortunately we are going to have to take a 6 month doggy day care hiatus because we are waiting until Ender is a year old to neuter and they have a rule about puppies older than 6 months.

Toby loves his daycare also (in fact, he's there today which means he'll be a tired angel tonight). That place you posted sounds wonderful. A few things that I really like about our place:

    - they have someone there 24/7 and overnight, the caretakers sleep on a futon in the room with the dogs
    - some of their staff are former vet techs and all have taken first aid
    - in case of emergency, their first-choice vet for care is the one we already use and love
    - if your dog is used to a crate, they ask that you bring yours and they use it, otherwise, they do not crate
    - they do personality screenings before accepting any dogs to the facility and they separate dogs that do not get along
    - they enforce rules like no climbing on the gates or room dividers by using verbal corrections and squirts from water bottles if necessary (but do not hit the dogs ever)
    - we did our obedience training there, so they will continue to work some of the commands they know he's learned
    - they have live streaming video on their website during the day so you can check in on them

Hope that helps. Good luck, quality doggy daycare is awesome.
