    DefaultSurgery is a go

Well just got back from the vets and we got the okay to go ahead with Tuesday's ACL surgery. Finally the LONG wait is over (6 months). We took a bunch of x-rays and it looks like he is finally big enough (growth plates are closed). Plus his hips look great...vet said no sense in fixing a knee if he has bad hips. We were so worried, but it looks like everything, besides the left knee is great! We have such mixed emotions...we are so happy & trilled that he can finally get his knee fixed and be on the road to recovery, but are so worried and extremely nervous about the surgery. I'm sure he'll be great, we have an amazing vet and everyone keeps telling us that it's second to neutering for most commen surgerys. We are really looking forward to the day he can run & play with his friends again. It's been a very LONG 6 months for him & us with on leash exercise only and no interactions with other dogs...poor guy. I know it's the long weekend so I'm sure I won't be on much before Tuesday morning so if you wouldn't mind keeping your fingers crossed for Fergus and a problem free surgery we'd really appreciate it! Talk to you all soon...

We're here for you. There are quite a few of us that have been on that road with our labs. If you have any questions just ask. Good luck on Tuesday.

How weird is this...I just logged on to PM you to say good luck with the surgery. Will keep Fergus in good thoughts, and keep us updated, k?

I know you'll be so glad when it's all behind, and he can run and play again.

    Good luck

Fingers and paws crossed here. I'm sure he'll be fine. I've been through it and so have several others here.
