My lab is aggressive toward un neutered male dogs, and attacks them viciously. Otherwise he is sweet, loving and gentle. Any suggestions? Thank you!
The first thing ppl will want to know is:
Age of your dog,
Is he neutered,
How long has this been happening?
I don't have any specific advice, but I know that this info will help people with some knowledge on the subject.
I'm Jenn. Keeper of two labs in my home and one forever in my heart.
Throw the ball, damn it!
On or off lead?
I'd take him to training.
I'll second those questions...
In the mean time, you can NOT let him off leash until this is sorted. If he attacks another dog and the incident gets reported you technically have a dangerous dog. I don't know about local laws in your area but in my country (UK) we have the DDA (Dangerous Dogs Act) and any dog attacking or even showing intimidating behavior in a public place either gets leashed and muzzled or PTS. Sad but true. Please keep your dog under control. It should never get to a point where he is allowed to "attack viciously" regardless of the circumstance :-\
i agree with everything previously said. Definitely get him into a behavioral training class.
