Yuk this just happened. I opened the main door so the dogs could go out. I am sitting in my lounge chair. Blackie jumps in my lap, Reggie comes in to get petting, Ranger comes in, something in his mouth. "Ranger what do you have? Another stick?" No, it's a dead squirrel. Make that a freshly, dead, decapitated, squirrel. Herded him outside. Tried drop it. Must have been too coveted for him to drop. Normally I would take it out of his mouth but I'm not touching the squirrel. Normally I am not squeamish but this is a bit much. He's not growling or anything. Keeps trying to go back inside with his treat. I grabbed a leash, made him lay down, and then he dropped it. I tossed it over the fence with a pooper scooper. BLECH!
I actually think the cat killed it. I saw some fur outside the fence when I got home but couldn't find a body. I am wondering where the head is. Hopefully it won't make an appearance inside the house. BLECH!
