Kevin is out of town, so I am walking the boys. Man, I am doing a lot of walking. New appreciation for Kevin. :P
So tonight we're walking along our usual route, and a toddler, probably about 1 1/2, appears at an open door and starts cooing "Doggie doggie doggie!" Very cute. Little blonde curls.
Mommy appears next, and shares her appreciation of the doggies. "You are just going to have to bring those D-O-G's up here to see her!"
Me: "ummmm, I dunno. They're pretty young...I'm afraid they might knock her down or hurt her..."
So she starts coming for us..."If it's OK...?"
OK, I say, I will just have to keep a close watch on them.
She explains that they had to rehome their D-O-G when they started renting (they are building a home), and it just broke little blonde girl's heart. Simon apparently looks just like their Jenny. :-[ Poor little girl!
Well, I was white-knuckling it with the leashes. I cannot stop doing this when I'm nervous about them flipping out. I know it's wrong, but I just can't make myself quit.
Little blondie comes over and just giggles with delight, squealing, making all kinds of cute little baby noises. And to my great relief, the boys could not have been sweeter! They gave her very gentle kisses on her little face. Oh, what a Kodak moment it was!
Mommy was very, very nice. She even told me to please put my poopie bag in her trash can! ;D She wants us to come see little blondie whenever we are on a walk.
