Can someone tell me if this is lab or not? She is supposedly six weeks and weighs 5-6 pounds....
Shading, ear placement and shape and head shape is not right for a lab. It might be a mix, but not purebred.
Plus if you didn't get papers, chances are no.
You should check the age to sell a puppy law too. Since you don't know what breed this puppy is the "breeder" may not fall under the law for Texas. But it's good to know about, just in case. Do you already have this pup?
the only way to know is to go with a trustworthy breeder (and get papers but even those could be a lie if another dog go to the mom mated with another dog than who they say is the father - AKC is only a registry based on self reporting so the breeder just sends in the paperwork, there is no proof of anything).
there is no way to confirm a dog is pure bred or not based on photos. the look of a lab really varies from breeder to breeder so it's hard to be "sure" if it's a randomly bred pure bred lab or a mixed lab. ESPECIALLY in a puppy. Anything is a "best guess".
Here is My Black Lab. I was lied to about His age, so I hold no trust in His breed validity. He measures from ground to top of hip around 18 inches. He is 33 pounds and about 6 months old.
No. The "mask" on her face is not lab. Her face, ears, etc. do not look lab. I also wonder if she's really 6 weeks. She looks younger.
