DefaultGREAT Lab in need of new home!

Wanted: Excellent home for an excellent dog. Maggie has suffered loss in her life and her master is not currently able to give her the time and attention she needs. Maggie is a very well behaved 9 year old chocolate lab. She obeys pretty well and comes immediately to her whistle. Maggie is full of love and is a loyal compainion and very polite in the house. She gets along well with cats and children, but can be a little picky about canine companions until she gets to know them. She doesn't dig or chew things she is not supposed to and can be in a fenced yard.

Maggie has a slight skin condition; when we got her she was almost hairless on her belly, chest and sides. Her hair grew in quite curly and she can have flakey skin if she is fed the wrong diet. Also loses her hair faster than the average lab. (sheds). Maggie also has a slight adrenal problem and requires a low dose of prednisone every other day to keep her running and jumping like a puppy.

She would make a great companion for someone who wants an energetic, fun-loving lab but doesn't want the burden of a puppy.

If you could be that happy forever home for Maggie please email or call right away. [email protected] or 805-710-4397 (pete)

    Thank you.

Well, I just called the local humane society to see if they would take Maggie. What I want to do is keep her home while waiting to see if someone is interested in her. I am waiting for a call back to see if they do that. Don't know if I would be able to just drop her off at the shelter. We shall see what they say. I am not having any luck with finding a good home for her.

Have you tried turning her over to a rescue?

We rescued her from a terrible place in Bakersfield, CA. I have not tried a rescue place. I guess I could do that. I just didn't want to do that yet. Trying to find a home on my own first.

The local shelter says that all they can do is have us drop her off and leave her there. She would be put in a small kennel. I cannot do that to her. That option is not an option after all.
