I was just curious if breeders give regular updates on their puppies once they are born? I placed a deposit on a puppy and the puppies were born a two weeks ago. The breeder sent me pictures of the litter a few days after they were born and said that one of the males will be available to me once he makes his final decision on which pups he will be keeping. I know he is probably busy with work and the puppies so I don't want to be a pain by emailing too often. Do you think it is appropriate to email and ask how the mom and pups are doing or should I just wait to hear back from him?
I know one that sends an email every week with puppy pictures, updates/milestones, and informative articles. I know another that doesn't get in touch with puppy buyers until it's time to arrange picking up the pup. Most are somewhere in between. I think it's fine to send an email asking how everyone's doing.
I do it via a diary on my website, and probably post photos and/or updates 1-2 x weekly. That way I don't have a jillion emails to handle and everyone (and their cousins, grandkids, etc) are happy.
