Ok, not normally, it isn't. But I guess if you're me, it is!! Last night while practicing with Abby in our Agility class, I over rotated my knee and hit the ground screaming!!!! I went to the orthodoc today, and guess what.......
he thinks I tore my medial meniscus!!!!!!!!!!!!! I go in for an MRI on thursday, so will everyone cross their fingers I don't require surgery, please?!?! I'm just so bumbed right now!!!! :'(
Oh no! Hope you heal fast!
OUCH! Sorry to hear that. Hope it's not too bad. This is one of the reasons that I stopped taking Theo to agility over the winter. (The class we had been taking is outside, and it gets extremely wet and slippery.) I am way too clumsy just walking to work.
could have told you that. one of the reasons i am not allowed to do agility anymore. hope you heal quickly and don't require surgery.

Yeah and conformation is next on your list.Originally Posted by labby
Agility is extremely hazardous. All you have to do is watch a Masters level class. Everyone is wearing knee braces, ankle braces, etc.
Personally, Murray has almost taken out my knees more than once. That's the problem with training an obedience dog (left side is the "place to be") to be an agility dog (woohoo, I'm on mom's right but crossing right in front of her path to get back to her left which is the "place to be").
I can't even imagine how painful that must have been. I hope you heal quickly and don't require surgery.
So does that mean that you will be pushing Page in her wheelchair this weekend while walking on your crutches? *If so, there will be plenty of folks to help you two. *Hope you heal quickly, and that the two of you can make the specialty. *Let us know. *
OUch! I had (have) one of those. It was quite painful when it happened, but healed pretty well on its own - just let's me know everyonce in a while that it isn't what it used to be. Hope it feels better soon.
OUCH!! I certainly hope you don't need surgery.
Yep, look at all the braces, bandages, etc in Master level
Front crosses and Reverse Flow Pivots will tear your knees up. I find that I'm starting to do more rear and blind crosses just to avoid those moves
Sure hope you'll be okay!!!

I talked to the doc about the specialty and he seemed to think with the pain meds and being careful and taking PLENTY of breaks inbetween would be ok. He said if it feels worse, STOP! Page was all upset about not going, but I told her "you can't keep a good dog down!!!" We'll be there, both GIMPYS, Page in her wheelchair, me in my brace!!!
We were actually doing front crosses!!!!!!!!!!
