In the past we have used Frontline Plus. I just went to order some more and noticed that K9 Advantix is $10 cheaper for a 6 pack than the Frontline and also not only kills the ticks and fleas but also prevents them.
Do you see any reason why we shouldn't change? Anyone use K9? Are you happy with it?
I have never used k9. I always use frontline just cause it is what my vet carriers. It has prevented the fleas and ticks well. However, I believe a friend of mine uses k9. She has been using it for quite some time now. No fleas, no problems. So my guess is that it works just a good. Her dogs are inside dogs by the way. I haven't heard anything bad about the k9 advantix. Hope this helps
K9 Advantix cannot be used on or around cats, so usually those with cats in the house don't use it. Other than that, I'd probably go with the cheaper of the two.
Frontline plus is actually pretty cheap here:

We used to use frontline, but it irritated Abby's skin so now we use K9 (have been for about 2 years) and I love it! We spend a lot of time in the water in the summertime (in the ocean and bay) as well as in the woods and I rarely ever find a tick on her and she's never had fleas before

That's a great deal. Most 6-month supplies I've seen are close to $60.Originally Posted by Dani
Cheap? I'd say!!! I just paid $94 for a 6 month supply from my vet.

I use k9 advantix every 6 wks april through october-ish.
I asked our vet the same question. She said that if your dog goes in the water alot then you should use Frontline. Something about K9 not being as strong after a while if they're in the water alot. I got a 6 month supply for both of mine for $61 a piece.
Well I guess i have my answer, Fronline Plus. We have 4 cats. $45 is a great price, right now a 6 pack is $63.99 plus $2.99 S&H on Drs foster smith.
Why can't it be used near cats?
