I am not real sure just what is going on with him. He has had the runs since last week. No throwing up. At first he was acting normal ... same energy amount, etc. I had been feeding him rice, chicken and cottage cheese for a couple of days then started to add just a little bit of his regular dog food back in. Still no better. These were not water runs ... just very loose. By Friday he seemed to be worn down. So Friday the vet gave me Chlorpromazine 25mg. Those have helped him ... and I have not seen signs of him having the runs today. They do s-l-o-w him way down. I back off of them last night. This morning he ate his rice mixture and ran outside, and it all came back up. He stood out there and ate it again. It has stayed down this time.
Labby ... at one time you had some information on "Spring Crud". I do not seem to have it any more ... do you still have it? I go through this each spring with just him. Nutmeg never gets sick with stomach problems. They both eat the same food and drink from the same bowl. We do have a pond and I am wondering if there might be something there.
Any ideas anyone??
I'm so sorry, Sue. I do remember reading on another board where a vet told someone the doggie "flu" was going around. I dunno; but I sure hope he feels better soon.
sending best wishes and a speedy recovery!
Aww Sue no advice but I hope you find out what it is soon!!!
Poor Fudge! So he's had the runs for a week and now he's throwing up, too? I hope your vet did a blood panel to rule things out?
I hope he's feeling better soon!!!!

I hope Fudge feels better soon.
I sure hope he is feeling better!!
Hope he's feeling etter!
Rock had similar symptoms (loose stool but acting normal) not too long ago. He got worse though, refusing food and then explosive diarhea - he had hookworms. hopefully it's nothing like that for Fudge
