    DefaultHeading to the park?

I have a 15 week old puppy that has had her third set of shots. She does really good on walks in the neighborhood, but I would like to get her around other people/dogs. She has one more set left at the end of the month. My son wants to go to the park today. Would it be okay to take the pup or should we wait until the last set?

I would not bring a puppy to the dog park until a week or so (not sure how long) after the last shot.

Have you socialized her to other dogs at all yet? One on one? Friend's/family dog's that you know are friendly?

I would not bring a puppy of any age to the dog park for initial socialization, it can be way too much. It is intense and can just make your puppy fearful. It is better to socialize them in controlled settings with known dogs first.

I recommend looking into puppy classes, your puppy should still be young enough. it is a safe controlled setting for puppies to socialize and helps you with training and normal puppy issues. It also socialises the pup to different people and new settings.

She has been around our 12 year old cocker spaniel for some time now and does very well around him. I've heard some people say after the third set of shots they are okay to go to the park and I've also heard its okay after the forth/all sets are completed?

    NO to the park.

Do you not have any friends or family members, with fully vetted dogs, you can set up okay dates with? Doing this, taking puppy to pet friendly stores, (NOT pet stores) post office, hardware stores, etc and still keep them off the ground in these places, and a puppy k/socialization class is adequate to socialize a puppy until it is safe to take them out other places.

one does is not socializing. you want to avoid places were lots of random people bring their dog (pet stores, dog parks) but you absolutely need to socialize to as many people and safe dogs (fully vetted, friendly) as you can.

I would NOT bring any dog that has only been around ONE other senior dog to a dog park. Dog parks are trial by fire and it can be wayy wayy wayy too much. YOu need to find alternative places to socialise in the meantime, to work up to the dog park.

Why four sets of shots? We usually only give three sets.

Again, look for puppy classes in your aarea. also known as puppy kindergarden.
