DefaultTodd scared the heck out of me this morning.

Todd threw up his dinner Tuesday night, and continued throwing up throughout the night, but there was nothing in it, just small liquid amounts. He quit vomiting around 2 am. I with held his food next morning, and made sure he was drinking but he was acting his normal self. Wednesday evening, still no vomiting but he had some runny poop. I made him some boiled chicken breasts and rice for dinner. He ate it. Kept it down. Flash forward this morning at 5:00 am, he was barking to go out. He had bloody, watery diarrhea. He would strain to poop and only a little mucosy bloody water would come out. I thought immediately he had an obstruction. He was lethargic, uncomfortable, and definitely not his self. Called the vet and said I thought it was an emergency, I was convinced he ate something. Took him right in. They did xrays, and examined him and said no obstruction, he has a severe gastric upset! They gave him an antibiotic and proviable paste and sent him home. No food the rest of the day and bland diet next few days. What the heck could have caused this? Anyone here have this happen? I was scared to death. I can't recall anything he may have gotten into. He is never really out of my sight to get into anything. On Saturday, he was trying to eat the acorns that dropped, but I caught him. He picked up sticks, but again, I took them away. Any ideas?

That's exactly what it was like. The blood and the straining part is what scared me. He just went out a few minutes ago and pretty much exploded. He went alot and it doesn't have blood in it, but it definitely doesn't look healthy. UGH
