The Fairmont Hotels are well known for their canine ambassadors:

Lots seem to be Guide dog dropouts! Nice alternative careers for them all!!

Fairmont - caught on awhile ago that North American markets appreciated the canine ambassador

And... guess what... most of them are Labrador Retrievers... they didn´t work as Guide Dogs because they were "too" friendly. Have to LOL at that.

Labs are not just your ordinary dog... they are beyond that

I'm lucky to work right across the street from the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and see Beau and Mavis out quite a bit on walks with hotel guests. One time I went walking through the hotel lobby and into their souvenir store to buy some Empress Tea and came across the two of them. Of course, I had to stop and give them a pet and as I was doing this their two noses were very interested in my hand bag. It was almost comical with how their noses kept digging into my bag and I couldn't figure out why until i realized that I had doggie treats in there. I have doggie treats in almost all of my bags - treats, along with poop bags - two necessities when I go out with my two. Anyway, I didn't think it would be appropriate for me to feed them, so I had to dash out of the hotel lobby before they followed me. Labs - they'll find treats anywhere!
