I am sort of worrying about my old guy Linus, an Australian Shepherd mix. He is 13. He is sleeping more soundly these days, likes to lay out in the yard and just peruse the back yard or just stretch out full length for a sleep. We have to yell to get him up anymore to go outside. He eats and goes potty okay, and he gets around okay. It's just hard to see him get old as he was born in the house with his three sisters. We are going on vacation soon and will be putting him and Parker in a kennel. I can't really find anyone to dog sit and I don't want someone just coming in and out. The kennel has very good recommendations from friends of mine and I am going to check it out this weekend. He also is going to vet weekend as he is due for some shots and will have to get a bordatella shot to go in the kennel. I am hoping the kennel stay will not bother him too much. Any suggestions or ideas to make it easier for him.
It is hard to see them age. I would take a blanket or toy from home to the kennel with him.
Maybe it's the food. Are you feeding him the Kibbles and Bits as well?
Nope learned my lesson about changing foods back to purina one
I agree with his blanket or toy. It is hard to see them age.
Many kennel owners like the oldsters so maybe this one does too and gives him lots of attention.
I always take a old comfy bed that I don't want back. I never bring home beds that intake to the kennel.
