    DefaultLeg Lifting

Just curious as to when males start to lift thier legs to pee. Siren is still peeing like a girl, he's just shy of 6 months. He had one time he kind of did it twoards the end but still is a squatter.

Bauer is 5.5 years old, and has never lifted his leg EVER. ON ANYTHING. I thought he did once on a snow pile, but he just didn't have anywhere to put his leg. It cracked me up when a kid commented once, "Ha ha ha, your dog pees like a girl!"

Webster turned 1 in June and he is a squatter (not so much a squat, he just kinda leans forward). I am convinced he is just to lazy to leg lift.

Jake started at about 7 months. Seamus was maybe 9 months. If they're neutered early, they prolly won't ever do it.

Cash is 2-1/2 and he's still a squatter.

Maxx started at about 9 months, but a lot of the time he only lifts his leg half-heartedly. He wasn't neutered until 21 months old so I am not sure what his problem is other than laziness!

Both of mine squat most of the time. Diesel actually only lifts his leg when there is some other dog nearby for him to impress. Dee was neutered at 6 months before I got him, Blaise was a year old.

Bauer was neutered at about 18 months, and was never a leg lifter. I thought maybe it was because he was never around other male dogs that lifted their legs. All of his male friends are squatters too.

Eight months though it took a while to perfect. Till 10 months there was sometimes a balancing problem. The funniest part was the OH's reaction the first time he saw the tripod pee. He was SO thrilled. Boys are silly.
