DefaultYou know you own a Lab when...

You know you own a lab when:

    - you go swimming with your dog and you can't keep up, even through you were always a good swimmer

    - your dog takes down strangers with its wagging tail and then licks them to death

    - your Lab does their signature butt-tuck run during evening play when you come home after work. Always makes your day that much better.

Those are just a few of mine.

....there is dog hair in the butter.

....when the 4th of July fireworks go off, your dog looks for where the duck went down.

....there is no recalling your dog away from the first pond of the year.

....licks your wounds, forgives your bad temper, laughs at your silliness, smiles at everything and most of all, is a best friend when you need one the most!

...when you have to buy a new vacuum every year or 2.
...when little girls knock on your door and ask if they can play with your dog.
...when you have to mop the floor when they are done getting a drink if water.
...when you have to make sure their food is put away and secured.
...when you have to remove everything from your coffee table.
...when you buy new furniture, clothing and flooring that matches the color of your dog.
...when you know you always have a best friend that understands everything you are feeling

Your new car, house or furniture is bought with a Lab in mind.
You no longer run down through the back yard at twilight to the lemon tree or herb garden, even if you are sure there are no surprises.
You have a king bed, but sleep hanging off the edge so they are not squashed. Never ever thought I could sleep all night in such a small cramped place.
Best of all they make me laugh no matter how naughty.

Never thought my camera would always be handy to catch one of those rare moments. You know you have a Lab when you have more photos stored on disc, USB and online than you do of humans.

All true. Want to add when your heart melts just because they rest their chin on your lap and look at you. Is it even possable to resist those eyes??!!

The bathroom deal is very true. I've not been in the bathroom by myself since I've had Jack. I even gave up closing the doors, much less locking them.

    Also:

    - when you have to clean your car's back window from the inside because of all the flying dog spit.

When you put unbreakable ornaments on the lower branches of the Christmas tree long after the kids have grown up. My old half lab wagged his tail constantly and shot ornaments off the tree like missiles.
