    DefaultConnected toe pads?

    Hi!
I just noticed last night that Jökull's toe pads are connected on his back feet like this:

(found that pic somewhere and ..."borrowed" it :$)

It doesn't seem to be bothering him though so I don't see a reason to get it "fixed".

Does anyone else here have a dog with connected pads or even know why their toes are like that?

Are the pads themselves connected or are you talking about webs between the toes? Lab toes are webbed. It's part of their natural design.

It happens. I've seen worse examples of fused pads than in the sketch of Spuds but only in other sketches or photos. If it's not a problem for the dog then it's not problem.

The two middle pads are connected O.o
He was all stretched out on my bed half asleep last night and I was looking at his toes for some reason (connected or not they're really cute ) when I saw it. It's just a couple of millimetres or so, the hairs between his toes cover it up but still, I was kinda surprised when I noticed.
Guess he's just my little cute mutant

Can you post a photo of this? As Paddysmom said....labs have webbed toes, so perhaps it's normal.

Every time I try to take pics of his toesies he tries to bite me (sticking toys/treats in his mouth doesn't even stop him )
    buuuut
    I found a piccy on Google: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8091/8...0d1fe9fdaf.jpg
It's pretty much like that, bit less obvious though (and totally black )

Ahhhhhhh! I see what you mean now! The pads really are connected! Well, maybe that will give him more "pull power" in the water!

Interesting! I did not know that kind of thing happened! If your pup is not affected, then no problem. Thanks for posting!

I had no idea that could happen either
And yeah! Maybe he'll be a great swimmer, haha Took him on his first trip to the shore to let him "swim" in the sea yesterday, he loved it
