Hi Lab Lovers,
Longtime reader, first time poster... but I'm not a newbie when it comes to Labs. I grew up with Labs and actively volunteer to socialize Lab puppies that are being trained as service dogs for returning war veterans and for law enforcement/explosives detection.
After many, many, MANY years of waiting to be in the right position to give a dog the care it needs, my husband and I are FINALLY getting our own Lab. A lot of research went into choosing the kennel, and we will be meeting the litter (and mother; father is a stud but I have seen photos) soon.
My question is: should I bring something small to say "thanks" to our breeder? I was thinking of baking some Lab-shaped cookies. Just something to bring besides my list of questions!
After waiting nearly my whole life for a dog that is finally 100% mine to care for, my dream is coming true--and I want to show my appreciation. This will be our first meeting (pups are 4 weeks old) and I really want to thank the breeder for all her hard work. I can't imagine what it must be like to be active in the conformation community while raising a litter.
I'd really love any input and I highly value the opinions of this community. Hopefully this is just the first of many posts for me.
I think it's a lovely gesture and the breeder will be touched by your thoughtfulness.

5 bottles of wine is a good strat, it's amazing how much you can knock off the price after each bottle.
In truth some lab cookies would be a good idea and the breeder would probably appreciate it.
Although I like the wine idea! The cookies sound like a nice gesture. Congrats on your new addition!

Welcome and congratulations! I think the cookies are a wonderful idea. Do you know if you ate getting a male or female and what color yet?
