DefaultFirst thing iin the morning on our walk

Jasper stops in a couple of places and eats the weeds Galium aparine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia which are prolific in our hedgerows.

This lead me to do a bit of research, and hey presto, this plant reportedly lowers the blood pressure in dogs.

Wonder what attracts them to this weed ?

Anybody use it for weight loss ? Apparently it has quite a few wonder properties !

Do you think he might be having health issues that are attracting him to eat this plant? It is just a thought but sometimes they do that, on the other hand dogs, especially Labs will eat just about any thing. Even the yuckiest of things!

It crossed my mind ! His old man is already on BP pills and Jasper is 15 years older than me in human years !

That's pretty cool. Don't think I've noticed that plant before. It says you can cook and eat it too. Are you going to try it?

Maybe just a call to the vet to see what they say? Better yet, do you have a friend that could check his blood pressure just to put your mind at ease.

I'm not worried about his blood pressure !

Not even sure what a dog's normal blood pressure is !

He was running around like a mad dog trying to hump a Golden this morning so if his blood pressure's high then it's his own silly fault !

Earlier on this week it was an in season Newfie bitch ! He's not fussy !

and yes - I do stop him as quickly as I can !

I read recently dogs love cleavers. It is suppose to be good for arthritis, flakey skin, and tonic for them. I keep meaning to pick it for my 2 and forget.

I often wonder if they know how to find stuff that is good for them.

Will let you know about the weight loss. I will have ti for breakfast, lunch and dinner. lol

They also say that you can dry the "fruits" and make a coffee out of them not to mention steeping the plant in water and making goose grass tea !
