My vet wasn't there. The young vet was quite good and thinks the bleeding maybe from an ulcer from constant vomiting (which is common in IBD dogs) or last night was the last straw for his body and a one off yelling out help. The vet let me bring him home as stress will make the Crohns worse. He is loaded up with stuff and should be fine. As it is Friday they did blood tests today in case he gets worse over the weekend. He is sore, but we don't know if that is his hips.
I am waiting for the vet to open in an hour and a half as I have been up with him since 2am. It isn't uncommon for him to vomit half the night when his gut is playing up, but the last vomit a few moments ago had blood in it so worried. I thought the E vet, but he is looking ok and will be less stressed at my clinic.
Poor wee man.

Sometimes the hardest part isn't letting go - but learning to start over.
Hope nothing serious Chris ! Good luck
Oh no Good thoughts for Erns and you on the way.
I have a rental car which is a sedan and not allowed dogs in it or I pay an extra $500.00. I am trying to think of a way to cover the seats in case he vomits. I thought of a shower curtain, but he may slip on it. Any ideas please.
I am tired and worried so this may sound mean and I should be more concerned about him than money. I am but my vet bills some weeks in the last few months have been more than I earn and with the possibility of having to buy a new car, and looks like Tess will need more surgery on the knee so I can't afford the $500.00.
Rugs with rubber backs and blankets. vinyl table cloths with the felt backing? Hope Ern is okay......update when you can please.
Or take a taxi ?
T.y MJ. The house is full of rubber backed rugs and never thought of them.
I suspect we will have to put him back on Pred. It is a shame as his hips have been doing so well, but we can't continue like this.
It takes a lot of research to find a seat cover that covers both the back and the seat Chris !
Good luck with the search.
I had to buy two - not expensive - but the seat cover was useless but the back cover would do both the seat and the back as it had no woven fabric - just waterproof mac type material and it solved my problems.
Yes the rugs or use the shower curtain with blankets over it. The blankets will slip around a bit when he moves so use lots of blankets. We did this when we took Jack to Texas at Christmas time in a rental. Also a big shirt or jacket to hang over the back of the front seats if bucket...or another blanket if bench to keep dog hair and any claw marks off the back of front seats. Hope he's OK! Keep us updated please. Do you think it's from something he took from the bag they snatched?
