Haana has been with us almost a year and it is time for her annual physical. So what happens? I think she has a UTI! Still eating, still drinking, still looking for handouts, still terrorizing my husband - he doesn't understand why she does what she does and won't listen to me - still sucking up to me, but she is urinating, losing control, and doesn't seem to know it.........
We have a leather couch and she did it while lying there last night. Then she got down to check out what Dad had, she then turned around to get back on the couch and gave the spot the dirtiest look imaginable. So she lay on the floor staring at me - giving me stink-eye...........didn't work, she got back up in the wet spot trying to avoid it best she could.............
Sending good thoughts it's just a UTI.
try to get a potty sample before going in!

Well, the visit was interesting. I wasn't told to bring a urine sample. I didn't think of it either. My MIL said something when I got home........
We are in the office and Haana was sniffing around and she lifted her leg, urinating up against the wall. The vet was stunned, she asked the tech to take Haana for a walk to get a sample and a few minutes later the tech came back in and said - I didn't get much, she lifts her leg and I couldn't get much, but it should be enough for what we need.............the look on both faces was priceless. They did get enough for a urinalysis and culture, thank goodness.
Lifting her leg is Haana's new trick, she doesn't lift it like a male dog does but she hunches it up and lifts a little to the side...it is very effective when she is p-mailing at the park.......................she was given antibiotics for a UTI, and something for incontinence just for about 5 days. Both are until the results come back.
I wonder if she learned to lift leg from watching Eddie. Bruno doesn't lift leg; I always thought maybe he learned from Mitzi and Judy. Tony also doesn't lift leg...learned from Bruno???
Anyway, I hope the antibiotics clear it up. Did the vet tell you to get a urine sample for recheck after the antibiotics are gone?
The vet gave me enough for 5 days as she wasn't sure what was going on. Now Haana will eat anything without smelling it, however because the pills are kept in a different place she is smelling them first! Then it's oh, their good - Gulp! Down the hatch! MMMM, delicious, what else you got mum?
Hope she is feeling better soon!
