I just took Tony and Bruno to the lake for a swim, took some sticks for B to dock jump. When Tony saw Bruno jump in, he went right after him, but he can only do the desperate dog paddle.(splashing front paws, not kicking back legs) He came up to the wrong side of the dock where there were no steps, and wanted me to lift him out. (~65-70lbs) I tried to get him under the dock to the steps, but he cried as soon as I left him. I had to go in after him, cloths and all. As soon as he got out on the dock, he followed Bruno to the end of the dock and jumped in deep water with Bruno, and came back to the steps splashing front paws but very proud of himself. Tomorrow, I'll go in with him and hold his back end up. (When Judy was a youngster, she did the same thing until I held her horizontal and she kicked rear legs. Bruno and Mitzi knew how to swim.)
I am so sorry, I know it is not funny but it made me laugh, out loud!

Sometimes the hardest part isn't letting go - but learning to start over.
Bless him !
Those pups keep us young.
To be so young and foolish. Aren't they all at sometime or another. That's why we love them.
Tony, you silly boy, don't you know Moms are not supposed to swim in their clothes? Oh, you knew that, huh?

I thought you were going to say he went back to the side for you to haul him out again...............too funny. I can just see that big grin on his face!
