    UnhappyDozer has pneumonia.

He was completely fine on Friday night....ate supper and was walking around wagging his tail....but woke me up early Saturday with a terrible, wet sounding cough and rapid breathing. I brought him in to our regular vet as soon as they opened at 8 am and after the vet took a peek at him told us to take him to the e-vet. I was bawling the entire ride over since our vet told us that there was a possibility that a tumor had ruptured and his belly was full of blood. 5 hours and nearly $1000 later, we were told he had pneumonia and were sent home with a bunch of antibiotics. Thankfully they didn't find any sort of tumor or obstruction in his x-rays....just a bunch of gunk in his lungs.

I have never been more terrified in my life. I know that there will come a time when he has to cross the bridge, but I'm not ready for it yet (and probably never will be)! I also can't believe how fast he went from normal, happy dog to lethargic and feverish.

After a couple doses of the antibiotics, his appetitite was back and he was walking and wagging his tail. He still gets tired easily and coughs when he tries to bark or walks for more than a minute, but at least that scary wet, gurgly sound is gone. I am SO thankful!!

Glad to hear he is improving. I bet that was an awful ride to the e-vet.

Good thoughts and lots of prayers for Dozer. I'm glad he's improving. I wonder why or how he got pneumonia? I didn't realize they could get that.
