    DefaultMarley and Me

....I am watching the movie for the first time on t.v...... I could never go to a theater, or even rent the movie when it first came out....probably will not watch it to the end.....because of the stupid owners decisions in Marley's life.

I read the book, and thought the owner's were idiots, who caused the death of an exuberant young Labby. The movie is just as bad. So far. Marley is such a typical lovable doofus!

Turn it off when they move to PA, it's all downhill from there.

Marley does not die.until he is a senior, he wasn't a young lab.
I do agree his owners were stupid!

what do you mean by "they caused the death of a young lab?" Marley died of old age in the end didn't he?
They may of been uneducated in how to properly raise a lab but I guess everyone has to start somewhere, and they loved him

I like the movie, but it makes me cry soooo bad

The more people I meet, The more I like my dog...

You are right, they did love him without a doubt. Unfortunately they were extremely uneducated in what it takes to raise a lab and he had anxiety issues which did not help matters. You are definitely right, Marley died as an older dog, not a young pup. I have watched and cried my eyes out several times watching the movie and reading the book. At least they hung in there with him despite his many issues and didn't dump him like many would do.

Yes, I misspoke about him being young....he was still young as I was watching him on t.v. Guess what bothered me was his second bloat and having him put down. Just did mot like the movies or book.

It is definitely a sad story. Thankfully they learned their lesson and did better with the next lab they got. There was a lot in that story to bother any responsible lab owner.

Not saying anything about the movie... But I can tell you from experience how much a dog with bloat suffers. An old dog with bloat suffers A LOT, so I really don´t see why you say they killed the dog. They saved him once... then the poor dog suffered it again, then they decide to put an end to his missery. Is that the owners blame? Old dogs can get bloat just because... their diggestive systems just don´t work as well, they don´t move around enought to help them.

I have never watched it, and to this day refuse to. My wife rented it a few years ago and I left the house until it was over. Hits way to close to home for me.
My Yellow Lab "Buffett" was my end all be all dog. He was under the bed one night when I watched My Dog Skip. I was crying so hard I drug him out form under the bed and began cuddling him and kissing him. The whole time he was doing the "Lab Eyes" and wondering what the hell I was doing.
