She really only needs a ride there, she ignores me most of the time, sniffing each grass blade, tracking the latest smell to or from it's origin, chasing another dog's ball, stealing another dog's toy, meeting and greeting, swimming and checking out the ducks.
She has been with us 10 months and the park is the best thing EVER for her. She goes in and out of the water but doesn't really swim. When she gets out she does a butt tuck that brings smiles and laughter to everyone that watches. Her tongue flaps along side her face, her lips are back and she runs and runs and runs. Then she stops and sniffs the grass or whatever attracted her and then she does it all over again.
She figured out last night she can take her feet off the ground in the water and move! she swims further and further each time - parallel to the shore.............I am in trouble the day she realizes she can go OUT, the ducks and geese will not be happy.
She slept early and heavy last night ad gave us stink eye when we we laughing and woke her up.............
Glad she had fun!!
Sounds like you need to send an early warning to the ducks!

Sometimes the hardest part isn't letting go - but learning to start over.
Oh, the ducks and geese will love taunting her, staying *just* far enough ahead so she can't reach them. She'll REALLY be tired after swimming around after them!

She got Eddie going a couple of weeks ago, so much so, he forget his fear & dislike of water enough to follow her around the pond a bit in order to get the ducks that were beating each other up. When she stepped into the water and he saw it was up to her neck, he quite calmly turned around and trotted back to me with no hesitation.
She has yet to meet a human or dog that she doesn't like, it's awesome to see her so happy, and yes, she sleeps like the dead later!

When you see her so happy, doesn't it make you at least that happy too.
We need pictures of her at Bark Park.
