    DefaultWhat Changed?

Last night Sammi, our 17 week girl, just got up from playing in the living room ... walked casually across the room, squats, and relieved herself.
Of course I caught her in the act and was able to get her outside where she did finish her bussiness. But this was totally out of charactor for her.
She hasn't done this in weeks. Typically she makes a beeline for the backdoor anytime she feels the urge.
Anyone know what may have changed to bring this on?

Have her checked for a UTI.

It also could be that she is still a baby and typically the road to being reliably house trained is two steps forward, one back. Puppies forget, get distracted and do have accidents now and then.

Yes - I would check for a UTI, but it could be a canine brain fart.

    What Jackie and Sharon said.
Good girl that she typically makes a beeline for the door!

Playing might be the key word here. If she got worked up and had to pee and then got caught up in play time she might have hit the puppy wall so to speak. Makes sure you clean up the pee spot with something to mask the odour so she doesn't get the idea that is a good spot to go again.

Nothing changed. She is still a puppy and distracted with the playing or just not thinking. Every so often, Tony also has an "accident". It's hard to remember that he is still a puppy because he is so big. When Bruno was young, he would dribble all the way to the door. It stops when they are adults.

Yes - at least the females squat and pee in one spot. You have not lived until you have a male puppy who decides to pee while walking through 3 carpeted rooms.

Exactly - like little boys writing their name in the snow with pee - only inside and the name, apparently, has 55 letters.
