    DefaultAcupuncture

Oakley is booked to start acupuncture tomorrow evening to treat her bladder condition. She gets medication 3 times a day and a steroid once every 3 weeks.
The Animal Hospital we go to has a Dr with creditials to do this. We saw him once and he mentioned that he has had good success treating Oakley's condition with acupuncture. I found out it is covered under her plan so I decided to try it in the hope of being able to get her off the medication so she isn't on it all her life.

Anyone else ever done acupuncture with their dog? Just trying to get a feeling for what I should expect tomorrow evening.

Huh, I don't know anyone that does acupuncture, but I've always wondered about it and how well it works. Fingers and paws crossed that it helps her out!

I never have, although we've done it with the horses (for different reasons). Let us know how it goes and what you think of it! I wonder what else it can be used to help with/relieve?

Hi, my rottweiler used to get acupuncture frequently for his hip dysplasia. I honestly don't think he even noticed the needles were in him! He just layed there and enjoyed the belly rub. I did notice a difference within a week or 2 in his mobility and pain. We continued it for quite some time as I didn't have to pay for it (I worked at the vet clinic).
I hope you have the same success I did. It was really non-invasive and super relaxing.

I tried it with Ernie for his hips. He wouldn't keep still and tried to bite. Muzzling him would have put him into a frenzy so decided stressing him wasn't worth it.
I have heard very good results with this and really hoped to do this treatment.
