Stop looking in the places you are! Either find a responsible breeder, a rescue or visit your local shelter.

    Thanks Marie!
Nicole this dog is going to the shelter if we don't get him. I"ve only had 1 dog in my life a 13 y/o lab we bought from breeder. Would prefer to rescue lab in need. Prefer lab bc I have 3 year old & know that they are gentle...thanks for advice.

You "know they are gentle" when they're well bred. All bets are off if you don't know the breeding and/or the dog is ill bred.

Good luck with whatever you do though!

I am sorry about the loss of your lab. That is a cute looking pup.

He's a cute puppy. Looks part lab to me. Thank you for saving him.

labs are great but their gentle nature comes from training and time. a rambunctious puppy isn't going to be "gentle" with a 3 year old, you will have to train both to interact together. Especially while the puppy is being mouthy/bitey and hasn't yet learned not to jump.

The dog you posted could have some lab in there. But there is no guarantee they will have lab temperament. You may want to consider working with a reputable rescue and getting a slightly older dog (4-5) that has been with kids and good with them.

Thanks so much for info/advice! We've decided to give this boy a try! He's been in our home today & is actually pretty mellow (so far)
As far as losing our 13 yr old lab I've never felt pain like I felt when she died. My heart physically ached for a week. I'm sure most of you can relate.
Thanks again & more info/advice would be welcome

I can so relate to losing an old friend. We lost our yellow 8yr old boy, Ruger, exactly a month ago today It has been a sad time for all. We are moving on too....sort of speak, we have a black labby girl coming home next week. We are not replacing Ruger but we are going to make more wonderful memories with a new friend. You will enjoy your little guy too, he is very sweet! Train, train, train. He will be a wonderful dog because you and your family will love him!
