I had forgotten about this shell hanging in the closet until yesterday.
Cappys passing was difficult for me but it's been really hard on Jim. It will be eight months next week and Jim still gets choked up when talking about him.
Yesterday we had breakfast in town and one of the gals there used to work at our bank. She asked if we still have our two yellow Labs. She remembered them in the van pulling up to the drive-in teller window. Both dawgs would get hyper as we turned into the banks driveway because they wanted to see the "bone lady" who always gave them their treat. As Jim started to explain that we lost one last April ... his voice trailed off and his eyes filled with tears so I finished the sentence for him.
Carrying on in their big brother's memory ...
I love the pic
It will be one year next month when I lost Forrest... I know how Jim feels.

He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his leader, his love. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion. Unknown
I still get choked up when someone asks me about Shadow, and it was April 22, 2007, that I lost her. Some dogs are harder to get over than others.
