DefaultTank had an accident last night.

Around eleven last night Tank pooped all over my bedroom floor. he had been panting on and off all day and really hard. He always pants anyway(I mean almost always, when he is excited, stressed,or hot) and was kind of restless. i kept taking him out but he would just want right back in. I even took him for a walk around ten to see if he would go and he would not. So I took him back upstairs and he finally calmed down and laid down. Then around eleven he jumped down really quick and let the explosion begin. Thankfully my room has hard-wood floor and it was an easy clean up. It was diarrhea and i did take him out for about an hour after-words cause I was a bit aggravated. I feel bad now but yesterday was just not a good day and that was the icing on the cake. After-words he was fine though and today he is fine. he is eating/drinking and going to the bathroom normally. The only thing that wasn't normal yesterday was on a walk he ran into a creek and got a drink. He's drank from some very gross ponds before and puddles and nothing happened so I didn't think much of it yesterday. So I am thinking it was just a messed up stomach?? I work tomorrow but since he was fine today he should still be okay tomorrow right? Everyone will be gone tomorrow so there will be no-one home to really watch him and i work 11-4.

Good luck tomorrow! I would suspect the water. With as warm as it has been this fall, Giardia wold be a real suspect (typically worst during spring thaws, at least around here). Do you have any Flagyl on hand?

I've never even heard of it,so no. It has been cooler here though(around 50-high sixties) so can Giardia still effect the water??

If he has giardia the diarrhea won't stop. I would be careful of what you feed him for a day or two. Watch him for anything unusual. He could have eaten something strange. Our last girl ate dryer softner sheets and it gave her the poops, so you never know. If he shows any puking or gets diarrhea again, you better call a vet. Do you guys have low cost vet clinics there? We have them here and the vets are really good. The cost is much less than other vets. Let us know how it goes with Tank....
