I am new to the forum and conasidering a puppy from Von Hausman Kennels in Ohio. I was wondering if anyone here has heard anything about this breeder (good or bad)?

Just looking over their site it appears that they do the proper tests on their breeding stock and have some nice looking dogs that they show in conformation.
It looks like they focus mostly on conformation titles. Personally I would want a breeder who does a little bit more with their dogs such as a WC (working certificate), obedience, rally, etc. since that is what I would do with my next dog.
both breeders are reputable. just because a breeder doesn't actually do other things with their dogs doesn't mean the dogs aren't capable. I don't hunt my dogs, but I just shipped a 100% show bred Lab puppy to hunters in WY because I know my dogs WILL hunt. Not everyone has time to do all things with their dogs. Why don't you contact them and ask if they've bred dogs that do other things.

I don't have any breeders to recommend particularly, but you may have some luck contacting the Labrador clubs in your area and asking for a referral. Let them know what you are looking for and go from there.
Here's a list by state: The AKC Parent Club of the Labrador Retriever
I got Baxter from Caudia (Von Hausman in Ohio) - very good experience. I'll pm you. Check out my sig pic - Baxter is the black one! He is a gorgeous dog, full of life and energy.
I know a member on here got her lab from Folkaur and he runs in hunt tests. Very nice looking lab, great temperment. Maybe she will see this & post.
