I'm not much of a poster as you probably know although I lurk frequently and keep in touch with what several of you have been up to. It's been even more difficult for me since Cappy's passing in April. A number of folks have asked me how Remi is doing so I thought I'd offer a past due update. Our hunting season began on November 3rd. We had two excellent days with Rusty. We ended up with eighteen ducks over the weekend. As usual, each time we hunt at our other property we "plant a duck" or two at home when we return. We place it in some 12" deep cover 100 yards or so from the garage for Remi to go find on command. Keeps her very happy since she's retired from actual hunting now.
These were from Saturday and Sunday ...
And a few more from this morning when just Jim and Rusty hunted ...
Rusty has far surpassed our wildest hopes and dreams for him in the marsh. I don't like comparing him to Remi or Cappy anymore than comparing one child to the other. I can tell you that he's an absolutely wonderful waterfowl retriever and even better in the house as a family member. He has only one serious flaw ... he loves his Daddy more than me and shows it too. The little Poop!
Carrying on in their big brother's memory ...
Wonderful pics, Carol. Both dawgs look great! I especially like that last one of Remi.

Glad to see you back on here Great pics!
Hi Carol! Nice to see you again. Great pics, love seeing Remi doing her retrieves. So glad that Rusty has exceeded all your expectations.

Good update - great pictures, Carol!
Thanks for the update Carol! I'm glad to hear Rusty and Remi are doing so well.
Good to see you Carol. He sure is a great dog. Cappy was such a special dog I have no doubt you and Jim had some very sad moments the times you see something that reminds you of him, or quiet times to think.
Wonderful pictures, Carol. Rusty is doing great. I love how Remi gets to retrieve the planted ducks.
Great pics. Glad to hear that Rusty is such a great retriever, even if he is a Daddy's boy.

Ask zoesmom or her hubby Clifford ... those images would never be allowed in a proceedings as evidence because the prejudicial effect would far exceed any probative value. Besides ... you are the Poop in this family for posting insulting comments about my Doodle!
Remi and Rusty aren't my whole life. They're trying to fill the hole in my heart left by Cappy's passing.
