Winter is always hard on Erns and each year I thank god I still have him come spring.
Today at the acupuncture the vet was talking about it and how it works for some dogs better than others. When he said Erns is in pretty bad shape it hit me like a bomb. I knew he wasn't good, but to hear it like that knocked the stuffing out of me. Without thinking asked if he thought I was keeping him here for me. Had I missed something?
He said no he is fine. He said when he got the notes and xrays he decided Erns was far worse than what I had said and was very surprised to see how good he is. I feel bad he isn't swimming yet and he had so much fun watching me clean his pool last week. I felt terrible.
I was fine until later at work and had trouble stopping the tears. I wanted time to stop for him. All the doubts,Tess, Garry and work have been taking so much time he must be missing out. I felt bad and couldn't wait to get home.
The moment I walked in the door and my bright eyed bushy tailed boy came bunny hopping to the door with my slippers yellling Mum is home...Mum is home....all felt good again. I made a mental note to give my special boy more of my time, and do the things he loves most with him.

Chris, don't feel bad about yourself. You always go above and beyond for both your dogs. It's just hard to see them getting older. Erns loves you very much, enough to bring your slippers to the door for you!
Oh man as if you're not going through enough with Tess without copping that.
Here's hoping the acupuncture will help the poor guy.
Hugs, Chris! I am sure Ernie knows how loved he is - and how much you do for all of them!
Poor old Erns ! Hope the Acupuncture helps him Chris.
He is lucky to have you!!
